bjp vs congress semifinal

Exclusive: Eye on 2014, BJP refuses the Delhi bait

In front of the cameras they might be saying 'Pehle Aap' but behind the scenes, BJP leaders are a worried lot.

Senior BJP leaders are concerned that the Congress could create conditions which will lead to the calling of early elections in Delhi in February-March, ahead of the General Elections. The BJP leadership fears that if Assembly Elections are advanced then there is a real possibility of the Aam Aadmi Party forming the next government in the capital. The BJP feels that the Congress knows it is on the way out and might help the Aam Aadmi Party come to power in Delhi, in a bid to show that there is no pro-Modi wave in the country. Assembly Elections 2013: Full Coverage

Speaking exclusively to the India Today Group, BJP's Delhi in-Charge, Nitin Gadkari said that the BJP wants the Aam Aadmi Party to form the next government in Delhi, with Congress' support. "We welcome the statement of the Congress spokesperson that the Congress is prepared to support the Aam Aadmi Party government from the outside. BJP will back such an attempt wholeheartedly and play the role of a responsible opposition."

Gadkari also said that the BJP is prepared to consider supporting a government of the Aam Aadmi Party in case Arvind Kejriwal were to ask the party for support . "Kejriwal is saying he does not want to tie-up with us. But in case he asks for BJP's support, the party's parliamentary board will discuss this possibility very seriously."

There is a section in the Delhi BJP that feels that being the single largest party the BJP should attempt to form the next government in Delhi. But Narendra Modi is dead set opposed to such a possibility. The BJP's prime ministerial candidate flew down to Delhi on Tuesday evening for a late night meeting with the BJP top brass. Well placed sources in the party told the India Today group that the Gujarat CM is concerned that any attempt to cobble together a majority in the capital will mar the credibility of Modi's campaign ahead of the General Elections.

"Since Vajpayee's time the BJP has desisted from forming government
s by wrong means . The NDA government fell by one vote, but we did not attempt to buy votes. The people of Delhi have not given us a majority, we do not have the numbers so there is no possibility of the BJP forming the government on its own," said Gadkari.

The BJP wants to ward off the possibility of Assembly Elections at least till the General Elections when the party believes it stands a much better chance of countering the Kejriwal effect since Modi will be a factor in the General Elections.

Gadkari said, "In case AAP and the Congress are not able to form the next government, then the BJP will try to find a way out. We do not want early elections at any cost. We believe that the people of Delhi deserve a government and it is the responsibility of political parties to find a way out. An early poll is not in the interests of the people of Delhi."

The BJP leadership, which earlier dismissed the Aam Aadmi Party as a 'Chiller Party', is now taking the threat posed by Kejriwal very seriously. The party wants to ensure that they are able to contain Kejriwalto Delhi so that AAP cannot impact Modi's election campaign nationally.

With the Congress government decimated in Delhi and discredited nationally, the BJP does not want Kejriwal to emerge as a counter to Modi.

Another Sikh – Damandeep Singh sits on fast unto death at Amb Sahib in absence of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh

Amb Sahib/ Mohali, Punjab (December 06, 2013): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), a young Sikh Bhai Damandeep Singh of Ludhiana has started fast unto death in the absence of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who was picked-up in an abduction like mid-night arrest by the Punjab police on the intervening night of December 05 and 06.
SSN sources, who were present at Amb Sahib Mohali today, said that an important meeting was held between the representatives of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP), Dal Khalsa and the Sant Samaj.
The meetings was attended by S. Simran Jeet Singh Mann (SAD Amritsar), Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema (ADPP), Kanwarpal Singh (Dal Khalsa), Baba Sukhchain Singh Dharampura and Hari Singh Randhawawa (Sant Samaj) besides many other prominent Sikh personalities and representatives of various Sikh bodies.
Damandeep Singh Khalsa (in Blue Dumala/ in the center) begins fast unto death at Amb Sahib (Mohali) in the absence of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa.
The meeting decided to endorse and support the fast unto death by Damandeep Singh that was started after performing ardas.
It may be recalled that this struggle was initiated by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa in association with various Sikh bodies on November 14, 2013 seeking release of certain Sikh prisoners who are languishing in various Indian jails even after completing the terms of their sentences. Earlier in August 2013 a joint memorandum was sent to various governments intimating them to release the concerned Sikh prisoners. Upon failure of the governments to respond to the concerns of the Sikh bodies, Sikh bodies held a protest March on November 14 from Amb Sahib (Mohali) towards Chandigarh and resubmitted a memorandum intimating the concerned governments about fast unto death and demands of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa.
It is notable that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has been booked by the police for alleged attempt to commit suicide and he is currently lodged in Ropar Jail.
Meanwhile, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has declared that he shall continue with his struggle and fast unto death in jail. On the other side, Bhai Damandeep Singh shall observe fast unto death till release of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh and concerned Sikh prisoners.

Badal Government stifles voice of Sikhs – police prevents march from Akal Takht Sahib

Amritsar, Punjab (December 04, 2013): Punjab government led by Shriomani Akali Dal Badal, also called Badal Dal seems to have decided to stifle the concerns of Sikhs who have taken up the cause of Sikh prisoners who were not being released even after completing the terms of their sentences, as the Punjab police forcibly prevented the Bandi Singhs Rihai March outside Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.

According to initial reports the police force was deployed outside Darbar Sahib in large numbers. When the procession of Sikhs led by five Sikhs holding Nishan Sahibs came out of Darbar Sahib complex, the police forced them to stop their. This reportedly led to a scuffle between the police and the Sikhs and the Dastar of one of the Singhs holding a Nishan Sahib went off. After is incident the scuffle intensified.
As per recent information the Sikhs have started Dharna near Jalianwala Bagh.
It is notable that a Sikh from Haryana, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh is on fast unto death since November 14 seeking release of 5 Sikhs from various Indian Jails. It must be remembered that the concerned five prisoners were not being released despite service full terms of their sentences.
Today’s march was called by various Sikh bodies to lend support to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s struggle.

Facebook reveals top trending topics for 2013

Popular social networking platform, Facebook, has released statistics revolving around conversations, life events, location check-ins, and trending topics for 2013, as the year draws to a close. The service analysed the year's posts to reveal these trends for Indian users.

The place where most Indian users checked-in was Sukhdev dhaba at Murthal, followed by the Golden Temple, Amritsar, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, New Delhi, Connaught Place, in New Delhi, Prasads IMAX movie theatre in Hyderabad, India Gate in New Delhi, Marine Drive, Mumbai, Taj Mahal in Agra, Starbucks, Connaught Place in delhi and PVR, MBD Neopolis, Jalandhar.

The top life events added to the timeline by users in India included adding a relationship, getting engaged or married, that preceded life events such as adding a travel destination, movement, meeting someone for the first time, having a baby, ending a relationship, buying a car, adding a hobby, studying abroad and adding a family member.

According to Facebook, the most talked about topic in India was BJP's prime ministerial candidate
Narendra Modi, followed by Sachin Tendulkar who recently retired from first class cricket, iPhone 5s, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, and Mangalyaan, India's mission to Mars.

Facebook says it analysed life events and places generated the most posts and check-ins in 2013, and then used the data to create global and country-level rankings. For topics, it says it measured how many Facebook posts in 2013 mentioned a specific topic and then ranked those topics based on the overall number of mentions to create each list. Mentions include both the term itself and related hashtags. For instance, both "Here at #Sachin's last match" and "Proud to be at the Sachin's match" would be calculated as part of the buzz related to a single event.

Infosys launches sales platform, TradeEdge

Software major Infosys has launched TradeEdge, an insights-driven sales platform that would provide visibility to global brands across the demand chain from distributors to consumers.

"It (TradeEdge) will provide brands one of the most affordable ways to expand reach in the emerging markets," Infosys chairman NRNarayana Murthy told reporters here.

The new platform will deliver insights that help brands accurately sense and fulfil consumer demand while significantly improving sales and operational performance, he said.

Murthy said the new platform will have a range of innovative features that empower brands to enhance collaboration by allowing companies and distributors to exchange accurate and timely information related to sales, inventory and products.

He said it would also expand reach by onboarding distributors rapidly in weeks rather than mo
nths, via a cloud-based ERP system, while rolling out best practices across markets within hours.

"For global brands, the next billion consumers will come from the emerging markets. To accelerate profitable growth, brands need to know these markets better, reach customers faster and do so at lower costs," Infosys vice-president and global head - products, platforms and solution, Sanjay Purohit said.

Designed from the ground up for the emerging markets, Infosys TradeEdge is already helping 10 global brands gain visibility into sales opportunities of more than $20 billion in over 70 countries, he said.

Indian IT companies' $18 billion opportunity

Technology firms in India have $18 billion opportunity to help clients improve productivity and asset utilisation as well as to enhance end-customer experience using IoTdata, according to networking firm Cisco.

There is an explosion of data generated by a network of internet-connected devices like sensors, routers, smartphones, smart TVs and security cameras, which is referred to as Internet of Things or IoT.

Using technologies like predictive analytics and Big Data, companies can enhance productivity and increase operational efficiency.

"Use cases for IoT are plenty, be it for energy companies that can build smart grids to reduce T&D losses or for the food industry where there is a lot of wastage due to lack of proper warehousing and logistics," Ciscopresident India and SAARC Jeff White told PTI.

Smarter networks not only help companies plan better but also reduce operational inefficiency and increase productivity, he added.

With improved business process execution and capital efficiency, companies can utilise their assets better ($1.4 billion), while enhanced employee productivity presents a $0.9 billion opportunity, as per Cisco projections.

Other opportunities include improved supply chain logistics ($8.3 billion), enhanced customer experience ($2.7 billion) and strong innovation, including shorter time to market and additional revenue streams from new business models and opportunities ($4.7 billion).

The benefits of IoT are not limited to corporates alone. Big Data and analytics are also transforming other sectors like healthcare and hospitality.

Citing an example, White said, "Using IoT, one can have virtual doctors in villages, where specialists are not available. Through telepresence, these doctors can conduct checkups, dispense he
alth advice, or even alert people to possible health problems before they become serious."

With IP-enabled devices connected to a common network and communicating with each other, door locks, thermostats, set-top-boxes, mini-fridges, light switches and other things can be automated to provide better experience to hotel guests, driving greater customer loyalty, he said.

According to Cisco's Internet of Everything Value Index study, IoT is expected to generate at least $613 billion in global corporate profits this year.

Cognizant: Social, mobility, cloud biz seeing traction

IT services major Cognizant, which expects to earn $500 million this year from social, mobility, cloud and analytics (SMAC) technologies, said the growth in this area has been better than expected.

Cognizant Technology's CFO Karen McLoughlin during the 2013 Credit Suisse Annual Tech Conference last week said the firm is getting a good reception in the marketplace to some of the SMAC solutions that it has build for certain industries and its clients.

"We are seeing great traction out of our SMAC Stack for social, mobility, analytics and cloud. And as you mentioned earlier in the year, we talked about that business was on track to do $500 million this year and we are still on track to do that.

"I think what's been interesting for us is the growth has been frankly a little faster than we expected it to be at this point," she said when asked about the status of the company's SMAC target.

McLoughlin added that over the next three to five years Cognizant expects Horizon 3 business to become a "meaningful part of revenue" and to become a meaningful part of its growth story and the company is on track to do that.

The company sees growing momentum across the three key segments of its Horizon 3--new technology architectures.

This includes SMAC, new markets and industries (such as Latin America and public sector) and new delivery models (such as pay-as-you-go, risk-reward).

Cognizant president Gordon Coburn had earlier said: "Our Horizon 3 offerings continue to gain significant traction with our clients and serve as a good illustration of our strategy of re-investm
ent for long-term growth. In addition, we continue to invest in other areas within Horizon 3, including newer markets and industries."

The firm posted a 15.4% jump in net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 at $319.6 million from $276.9 million year-on-year (y-o-y). Revenues were up 6.7% to $2.31 billion on sequential basis and 21.9% ($1.89 billion) on a y-o-y basis.

Buoyed by a strong set of numbers, the New Jersey-headquartered company revised its full year revenue target.

For 2013, it now expects revenue to be at least $8.84 billion, a growth of at least 20.3% over 2012. It had given a guidance of 19% growth in revenue ($8.74 billion) compared to 2012.

gurbaksh singh ji not more,Shaheed Baba Gurbaksh Singh ji

                                   Shaheed Baba Gurbaksh Singh ji

Baba Gurbaksh Singh jee was a very well known and respected Singh, who had the honour of being martyred while defending Sree Darbaar Sahib.
Baba jee was of village Leel near Sree Amritsar. His Father was Bhai Dasaundha Singh jee and mother Mata Lachmee Kaur jee. Baba jee's parents served Satguru Gobind Singh jee and Baba jee received amrit at the age of 11, due to the inspiration of Bhai Manee Singh jee. He spent time with Baba Deep Singh jee and Bhai Manee Singh jee and became a very good scholar and warrior.
About Baba Jee
Baba Gurbaksh Singh was always dressed in blue baaNaa and kept a very strong rehit. He would awake at amrit vela and do ishnaan. Then, while reciting baaNee, Baba jee would tie his dumalla. Baba jee loved Sarbloh. He would offer his respect to his sarbloh shastars i.e. kirpans, chakars, toRaas (metal cable tied around dastaar), kaRas, etc and then put them on. He would finally put on a mala of sarbloh around his neck and also many sarbloh kaRas and simarnaas. Baba jee's dastaar had many sarbloh toRaas tied into it. He would also wear a sarbloh armour.
Other features Panth Parkash mentions about the way Baba jee looked was that he wore a very long 1.5 yard kacherra and always kept a long stick with him.
Every amrit vela then, after dressing himself in his baaNaa, Baba jee sat in the divaan at Sree Akaal Takhat Sahib. It did not matter who came to meet him, whether a powerful Sardar or a lowly peasant, he greeted all people in the same way and with the same respect. He had absolutely no worldly aspirations or greed.
Whenever there was a battle, Baba jee would always go and confront the enemy. He would take the Nishaan Sahib himself and advance. With the beat of the nagara, Baba jee used to be in the forefront to confront the enemy.
Abdali's Oppression and the Khalsa Scatters
The Khalsa had scattered when Ahmed Shah Abdali brought his army through the Punjab. Some Singhs went to the mountains where they were looted by the mountain-people; others went and hid around the rivers where they were not only looted but also attacked by lions and other animals. Those Singhs who decided to stay in Majha and not retreat were turned over to the Afghans by traitors and informers. In Malwa, the Singhs also fared no better and had to go from house to house like beggars.
At Sree Amritsar, the Sarbat Khalsa gathered one day and after the night divaan, decided to abandon Sree Amritsar and leave together as a group for Malwa.
Baba Jee Offers His Shaheedee
After the decision had been made, Baba Gurbaksh Singh rose and addressed the Singhs. Baba jee said, "Is there any Singh in the Panth today, who would fight with the Afghans and sacrifice his head and then go to Dargah and with his sacrifice have Karta-Purakh listen to his request and ensure the Chardi Kala of the Panth? One who could do ardaas to Karta-Purakh and bring an end to these dark days? Is there any Singh who is so determined and is such a devotee of naam and one who is so strong in rehit? Is there anyone who will give his life for the rest of the Khalsa and with his sacrifice be able to wipe out the enemy?" [It is said that when the enemy kills a bhagat of Vahiguru, the bad karma of committing such an act results in the enemy also being wiped out. Baba jee was asking if there was such a bhagat in the Panth who could give such a sacrifice and destroy the Afghans].
The Singhs listened to Baba Gurbaksh Singh and replied, "Baba jee, is there any Singh better for this than you? There is no one with more kamaiee. No one else has the power to abandon their body and go to Dargah like you do. No one else's request will be more acceptable to Vahiguru than yours."
Baba jee listened to these words and then bowed his head and agreed to the request.
Baba jee Prepares His Wedding Party
Baba jee then called out, "I want to be Shaheed! If there is any other Gurmukh who wishes to come with me to Dargah, then let them also come. When there is a marriage, the groom goes with his Sarbaalha (best man) and with a large baraat (marriage party). I am going to marry the bride of Death. Are there Singhs who would be my Sarbaalhas?"
Hearing Baba jee's call, many Singhs rose and stood with Baba jee. They said, "We were waiting for your call. With your permission we will be your Sarbaalhas."
Seeing these Singhs stand, many more Singhs also rose and said "then we all will come with you in the baraat!"
Baba jee then adressed all the Singhs and said, "Khalsa jee! You have all agreed to join my wedding party. We will give our heads in this Dharam Yudh and in this way we will be married. We will get Shaheedee and Guru Sahib will give us all Kingships. No, even bigger rewards than kingships. That Singh who gives his head in battle will be the King of Kings. "
The Singhs Prepare for The "Wedding"
By this time, Ahmed Shah Abdali had arrived in Lahore. He was preparing to go to Delhi when he heard about the gathering of the Khalsa at Sree Amritsar. He decided that on the way to Delhi, he would stop at Sree Amritsar and slaughter all the Sikhs.
Hearing of the advance of Abdali, some of the cowards who had remained at Sree Amritsar with Baba jee ran away. Baba jee also encouraged them to leave and said "Go! Leave now, otherwise we won't let you leave later!"
Only about 30 Singhs now remained. The remaining Singhs were all chardee kala naam abhyaasee Gursikhs. They prepared for their death like a groom prepares for his wedding. They all had new cholas sewn. Some decided to sew blue, and others wore white and others kesree. They gathered in front of Sree Akaal Takhat Sahib and eagerly awaited the enemy. They would stand on their toes to see if the enemy was yet visible on the horizon. They were discussing how they would give their Shaheedees and then in Dargah would stop the Afghan attacks forever.
The following day, the Singhs all rose at amrit vela. They began to prepare like it was their wedding day. They sprinkled themselves with attar and rose scents, and rubbed sandal past on their bodies. As they did this, they sang "GhoReeaa(n)" shabads from Sree Guru Granth Sahib. They then bathed in Sree Amritsar Sahib and then gathered at Sree Akaal Takhat.
Baba jee was looking very impressive in his new dress. He was wearing a blue chola over his new kacherra and was wearing a very tight dumalla, which was tied especially for battle. The dumalla had many chakars and kirpaans tied into it. The Singhs then gathered and offered obeisance to Sree Guru Granth Sahib. After reading 5 pauRees of Anand Sahib and doing ardaas, the Singhs distributed Degh and then as a group left for darshan of Sree Darbaar Sahib.
The group of Singhs was led by a Nishaan Sahib and nagaaras were beating. Baba jee asked the Singhs to sing shabads of happiness as this was their wedding day and the wedding party was now moving. Baba jee and the other Singhs also gave away all the money they had to the needy. They arrived at Sree Darbaar Sahib and did parkarma. Once inside, they showered Sree Guru Granth Sahib with flowers and then did Ardaas. Baba jee standing before Satguru Granth Sahib spoke the following words, "True Emperor, protector of the poor! Your Khalsa is going now to marry the bride of Death. We are going to battle the Dushts. Satguru jee! May our Sikhee and our kesh stay intact through our final breaths."
The Afghans in the meantime had began to move towards Sree Amritsar. They had prepared for a massive battle and brought a large army. They were wearing armour and metal helmets. They had decided to do battle in such a way that the Singhs would be killed but they themselves would incur minimal casualties. They had brought long weapons which could kill from a distance such as large guns.
Baba jee, after offering ardaas at Sree Darbaar Sahib, returned with the Singhs to Sree Akaal Takhat Sahib to listen to keertan and await the enemy. The keertanees began to recite keertan and the Singhs would ask that certain shabads they wanted to hear be sung. The GhoReeaa(n) shabads were again recited. In this way, the entire night passed in listening to keertan. At day break, the enemy had arrived.
The Afghans Arrive & The Battle Begins
The Singhs upon seeing the Afghan army came down from Sree Akaal Takhat Sahib. They bowed to their shastars (kirpaans, kataars and talwaars) and then grabbed them. Some Singhs grabbed very big sticks and others mounted horses. The Singhs vied to go ahead of each other and kept moving forward. They Singhs argued about who had the right to attain Shaheedee first. The Nishaan Sahibs were furling and the beat of nagaaraas was echoing. The Singhs were like grooms anxious to marry a beautiful wife and seeing the time come closer, becoming more and more excited.
Some Singhs then ran forward and began the battle. The Singhs would sprint forward and began to embrace Shaheedee and complete their weddings with death. The Singhs were surrounded on all four sides and the Afghans began to close in. Baba jee called out to all the Singhs, "Singhs! Step forward and embrace martyrdom! If we step forward, our honour remains intact, if we step back, they will say we are retreating! Do not look for assistance anymore, just go forward! Now go forward and give your heads!"
Hearing Baba jee's cry, the Singhs all charged forward. They fell upon the Afghans like a lion on deer. The Singhs were all eager to become Shaheed as quickly as possible. They had no hope for life.
Baba jee again called out, "Khalsa jee! Become Shaheed and cross this world-ocean! Let us go to the court of Satguru jee and ask that the Afghans never attack here again and that the Khalsa should rule! What is the delay now? Fall upon the enemy!"
The Afghans Fall Back & Reinforcements
Wherever the Singhs stood their ground against the Afghans, they eventually fell. Afghan reinforcements also arrived. Not one Singh stepped back. Some Afghans even began to run away. Seeing this, Baba jee bellowed, "Don't let them go Khalsa jee! Stand and fight this Dharam Yudh!"
The Afghans did not understand what Baba jee was saying and were surprised to the see the Singhs run after them. They then trained their guns upon the Singhs. Many Singhs standing with Baba jee fell to the rain of bullets. Baba jee then took out his heavy Tegha and ran towards the enemy. He swung his Tegha with such force that it cut through the armour of the Afghans. Baba jee would aim for the face and neck where there was less armour. The Afghans all then began to cover their faces with their shields.
The Singhs seeing the cowardice of the Afghans threw aside their own shields and challenged, "look! We've thrown aside our shields, do you have the bravery to do the same? We'll take your blows without any shield, will you take ours?"
The Singhs continued to run forward and did not show any fear of death. They did not so much as look backwards. The Afghans continued to fall back and began to wonder why such a small group was not finishing and whether these few Singhs would cause their defeat. They could not bear the brunt of the Singhs' sword blows. They fell back and began to fire bullets and arrows.
Baba Jee's Shaheedee
Baba jee's body was pierced by many bullets and arrows and his wounds could not be counted. Some cut through his skin and others broke bones. But neither did the Singhs accept defeat nor would they acknowledge any pain. Baba jee's body was pouring blood like a spring. But Baba jee kept moving forward. He was soaked in blood like he had just been playing Holi with colours. Eventually because of loss of blood, Baba jee became very weak. He could not walk anymore and became very tired. But with every ounce of strength in his being, he put on foot ahead of the other.
Baba jee called to the remaining Singhs, "Singhs! Do not shame the BaaNaa we wear! May our Shaheedees be perfect and may we fall in the battlefield!"
By this time, even more Afghan reinforcements arrived. The new Afghans surrounded the wounded Baba jee and pierced him with their long spears. Baba jee with great effort used his khanda to cut off the spears and the Afghans again fell back. Baba jee continued to challenge the Afghan reinforcements until eventually he was beheaded by the enemy and attained Shaheedee. Baba jee's vow was completed.
The Aftermath
Night fell and the Afghans were in shock after seeing such a bloody battle. They set up camp near the Bhangi fort and fell into a deep sleep. The few Singhs that had remained hidden in the area though rose at night and attacked the camp. The Singhs stole horses and began to slaughter the exhausted Afghans. The remaining Afghans could not sleep in peace and at day break, they quickly fled from the area.
The same night, a few other Singhs came to the scene of the battle to see what had happened. They saw the headless bodies of the Singhs and many many Afghans. The Singhs decided to make one big pyre and cremate all the bodies together. Behind Sree Akaal Takhat Sahib, a lot of wood was gathered and all the bodies were cremated together. Degh was distributed and the Singhs celebrated as though a great wedding had taken place. The Shaheed Ganj of Baba Gurbaksh Singh still stands at that place.
Baba jee's Shaheedee was glorious and indeed, the Afghan power did begin to fall after this point. Within a few years, the Sikhs began to rule Punjab and the Sikh Kingdoms were established. In today's dark period, where again the Sikhs are powerless and attacked from all sides, do we still have Shaheeds who can give their sacrifice and return power to the Khalsa?

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa Released from Hospital, Re-joins Morcha at Gurdwara Amb Sahib

SAS NAGAR, Punjab (December 10, 2013)—Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has been discharged from the Chandigarh based PGI Hospital.  His medical reports came out a few hours ago and everything was found to be normal.  He has already arrived at Gurdwara Amb Sahib and was greeted by the Gursikh Sangat.
Although Bhai Sahib is physically really weak, he remains to be in chardi kala and is steadfast with his demands.
It was thought that the hunger strike had an impact on Bhai Sahib’s kidneys and fearing any consequences, he was released from the Ropar Jail and was admitted to the the hospital for further checks.  All charges against him were withdrawan and in a statement made to local media, the Mohali SDM Lakhmir Singh stated that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has been released because “there was no threat to peace”.
Although Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has suffered a lot, these recent developments may turn out to favour the Khalsa Panth, since the Goverment of Punjab no longer has a reason to re-arrest him.

This Morcha has highlighted the spirit of Bandi Chod Divas. The faces of our so called democratic and panthic leaders have been unmasked. Panth needs to arise and restore our democratic and panthic institutions that have been hijacked by such leaders. Duality of Justice system has been exposed. Waheguru es muhim nu Chardi kala bakhshe. Nanak Naam Chardi kala, tere bhane sarbat da bhala.

Varinderjeet Singh, while reacting on the recent statements of some individuals and supporter organizations of NC and Congress, that Sikhs in Gujarat are not safe and have been tortured and forced to leave Gujarat, said that it is white lie and the fact is that the Sikhs in Gujarat are as safe as other communities living there. They are even more secure than in Delhi, where they were butchered in thousands in just few hours in 1984 during the Congress rule. They are also more safe in Gujarat than in J&K, where they were killed in 1989 riots in Jammu during the National Conference rule.
Varinderjeet Singh said that a misinformation campaign has been launched by these parties, as they are feeling insecure due to the growing graph of Narendra Modi. He said thatallegations like -Modi is victimizing Sikhs- are based on ignorance and selective interpretation of the facts.
Singh said that whatever is being said about Sikhs in Gujarat is a totally distorted picture to present the facts in other way regarding 454 Sikh families who were settled by Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1965 in Kutchch district of Gujrat. He said that each one of these families is safe and their number have gone now to 5474. Many of them are reputed business, elected representatives and social activists.
As far 784 families whose agriculture land allotment have been cancelled is the result of the inquiry conducted under an Ordinance brought by the than Congress Chief Minister Ghansham Bhai Ojha on April 14, 1973, which said that their allotment stands cancel as they had produced fake documents to get the allotment of land. Taking any benefit on fake documents cannot be justified by any means and it should not be linked to a particular community or caste. He further said that out of these 784 families, 108 families are from Gujarat, while 512 are from other states. The most interesting thing is that only less than 5 dozen families are of Sikhs and maximum of them are non-Sikhs. Hence, it is a totally false propaganda and the Sikhs should not fall in this trap and should themselves go through the figures. He further said that even 20 families from Gujarat have openly came to public through media at Chandigarh claiming that they are most secure, most respectable citizens and most peaceful citizens of Gujrat, which is again a slap on NC and Congress leaders who are using their touts to make baseless statements through media.
S. Amreek Singh said that with each passing day the political stature of Narendra Modi is going up and it cannot be tolerated by NC and Congress. Narendra Modi has always appreciated the valour of Sikhs and their contribution towards nation. Modi has even described Sikhs as backbone of the country, which is indeed a great honour to us, he added.
The BJP leaders, while demanding speedy disposal of all the pending cases of the victims of 1984 Delhi riots, appealed the Sikhs to not get misled by the propaganda against Narendra Modi and strengthen BJP.
